This Tillowitz factory example is finished in the scarce #402 mold that Ms. Gaston would refer to as a Scroll Border mold with eccentric features. The artistry is wonderful, as is expected from all Reinhold Schlegelmilch antique items. Examples of this pattern are very difficult to find, but an exact mold match can be found on Page #115 / Plates 267 & 268 of The Collectors Encyclopedia of R.S. Prussia (1st Series) / by Mary Frank Gaston, 1982 / 1993. Our spectacular spring floral bouquet bowl is 10.25 inches in diameter and weighs 1# 6 oz. The RS Prussia molds & logo were first seen in ca 1903 and used until ca. 1914. This is a beautiful piece of RS Prussia.
