Description
Elton John has been one of the most prominent celebrities championing the cause of AIDS fundraising, and one of the most generous contributors. He performed with Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, and Gladys Knight for the very popular song "That's What Friends Are For," written by Burt Bacharach and released as a single in 1985. This Grammy-winning song raised millions for the AIDS foundation.
This black bolero hat was worn by Elton John in the video footage of his performance of "That's What Friends Are For," with Dionne Warwick and friends. It is prominently autographed on the front brim in gold metallic ink "Elton John." The felt hat is corded around the brim, and has a corded chin-strap. It is glue-mounted on a wood-stretcher display board with a photograph of Elton John's vast collection of costumes from a shoot with Vidal Sassoon.
