Description
The Victory Tour concerts were the last live performances by all of The Jacksons as a group. Running from July to December 1984, the tour included 55 concerts performed to around two million fans. At the time it was the most successful tour of any solo artist or group. All members joined the entirety of this reunion tour, with the exception of Jackie, who suffered from a knee injury. Jackie did manage to perform with the group for their final show at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, at which time Michael announced his departure from the group to pursue a solo career.
Jackie Jackson wore these red and silver-lamé boots for his December 9 performance with The Jacksons at LA Dodger Stadium. The top edge and soles of these mid-calf boots are trimmed in a silver-lamé material. A red strap, sewn to the soles, wraps around the ankles and is secured at the end by a silver-tone buckle. Each boot features a hand-sewn "J" medallion near the upper edge. This medallion is constructed of red metallic threads, clear and red seed beads, and clear-faceted rhinestones. To the right corner of each medallion is the bottom rivet of a snap closure; an overlapping strip of material folded at the diagonal can be unfolded and snapped to this closure to hide the "J" medallion. A silver-tone metal hook is secured to the back seam of each boot by a small sewn strip of material. The lining of the boot is in the same red-lamé material; the lining is inscribed with gold metallic ink "Jackie." There are a few small scuffs to the lamé finish and the bottom soles are lightly worn. The boots appear to be custom-made; there are no machine markings or size notations on the sole or lining. Boot length: 11 1/2
