Description

A Worth embroidered and beaded velvet evening coat, circa 1926, labelled and numbered 33934, the back panel of violet chiffon couched and embroidered in silver threads, the ground half-beaded with scarlet bugles, lined in peach velvet and trimmed with purple fox, chest 96cm, 38in

Condition

The purple ground colour has faded especially to the rear hem and sleeves - there is the possibility that this could be re-dyed. Water-stain to hem of orange lining approx 8 by 2in but hard to see as the velvet falls in a different direction here. Tiny hole at top of left sleeve, two small stains to front right panel, length 47in,.
