Description
4 pieces of American coin silver, attributed to South Carolina. 1st and 2nd item: 2 teaspoons with rare Mulberry Pattern raised decoration to handle and shell backs, one marked J. Ewan with crowned shield and lion pseudohallmarks (John Ewan, working Charleston, c. 1823-1852) and monogram M, the other marked Wm. H. Ewan (working Charleston, 1849-1859); no monogram. 3rd item: Dessert spoon with plain fiddle handle and monogram AVB, grid mark and the number 94, marked on back J. Ewan with pseudohallmarks. 4th item: silver creamer raised on a rectangular foot, the body having a band of Mulberry vine and berry decoration, unmarked. 6"H. 8.77 oz troy total weight. Provenance: private Middle Tennessee collection.
Condition
1st item: small dents to bowl and wear to shell on back. 4th item: scattered small dents. Otherwise very good condition.
