Item Details
Description
Diameter 5 1/8 in., H 2 1/4 in. This was a palace bowl of the Yongzheng period (1723-1735) and was probably used in birthday celebrations because a Chinese character 'longevity' was painted on it. It was also rare to find a bowl decorated with iron red dragon. This bowl was unique in that it was fired twice because the iron red was painted after the blue color was fired. Provenance: From a famous Chinese collector in USA.
