APOLLO 6, 1968, FLOWN HEATSHIELD FRAGMENTS
Here are several small fragments, the largest 1/4 inch long, from the heatshield of the CM-020 Command Module on the second (and last unmanned) flight of the Saturn V launch vehicle, April 4, 1968. They were removed for analysis upon return to Earth and have remained in the possession of Robert Stuckey of the NASA Johnson Space Center ever since. They are presented in a 1 inch capped tube, set within a 2 1/2 inch lucite cylinder with slanted base and engraved inscription, along with an authenticating letter from Stuckey.
