An antique mannequin from a time when the new glamorous department stores started advertising their goods on lifelike shop window dolls
This life-size mannequin was probably created in the 1890s. Made from composition, wood and cloth, the female doll is particularly striking because of its very feminine shapes. The lifelike shaped head is finely painted and has two ear holes. Wearing make up the beautiful face gains special expressiveness by the two large glass eyes with brown-green iris. The arms are equipped with movable elbows, wrists and slender hands made of wood. On the lower legs, the doll wears two black wooden boots.
The doll is numbered under the chin with the pattern number 46. On the elbows, there are plaques with the inscription 'DRGM' (German Reich-and utility model). The condition is good with age appropriate wear. The fabric is partly torn and shows some holes. The wood is partially scratched and shows smaller material losses, the head shows some minor repairs. The size of the mannequin is about 167 cm. (cko)
