Beautiful collector's piece!
This antique Bidjar rug showcases the unique craftsmanship of the peasants from West Persia. Bidjar is a Kurdish town in Western Iran. Rugs of this kind are often very strong and dense, hence the Bidjar is one of the most durable oriental rugs. All around the rug is adorned with a border with floral elements. In the centre there is a medallion in blue with flower patterning on a light-coloured background.
The rug is in fair condition. It shows partially signs of wear and discolouration. There are some small flaws, some of which have been touched-up. On the back a textile band is attached for easy hanging. The rug measures 136.5 x 173.5 cm.
