Description

French Victorian Carved Marble Pedestal, early 20th c., the stepped circular top with a leaf carved skirt, on a tapered turned floriform and leaf carved support, with a stepped socle on a hexagonal base, H.- 36 1/2 in., Dia.- 9 1/2 in.

Condition

Condition consistent with age and use. Top is observed with heavier wear to the center, and a few brown spots of discoloration around the edge. Scattered chips, the largest approximately ½ inch, are observed just above the carving on the column. Spots of brown discoloration are observed throughout the column and the base. The base is noted with small chips along the edges. A classic example.
