Description
Antoine-Louis Barye (1796-1875), "Arab Horseman Killing a Wild Boar," 19th c., patinated bronze, signed center front, H.- 11 5/8 in., W.- 13 1/2 in., D.- 6 1/4 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age. The bronze is corroded around the figure’s proper right hand and there is some white powdery residue when the surface is scraped. There are also a few smaller white spots on the bronze on the left side of the figure’s cape and in a crevice on the back of the sculpture. A skillful example.
