Two Pair of Patinated Spelter and Marble Book Ends, c. 1930, one of German Shepherd dogs, the other of squirrels, Dogs- H.- 6 7/8 in., W.- 5 in., D.- 3 3/16 in.
Condition
Dogs- Condition consistent with age and use. Loss of gilt observed, especially to the center of the dogs. Flea-sized spots are noted on the back of one, with a ¼ scratch observed at the side of the same dog. Small chips observed on edges of both marble bases. Squirrels- Condition consistent with age and use. Both are noted as slightly loose from their base, with a few flea-sized nicks and loss of green patina throughout, especially on the tails. Both charming sets.
