Issued in vol 4, issue 56 of 'Paris à lêu-forte' on 3rd May, 1874, barely a fortnight after the opening of the first ever Impressionist art exhibition in Paris, of which this plate was seen as a prime example of this sensational new movement, and Guillaumin one of its founding members.
