Description
Arkansas, Usa, Ca 17th century. Extremely rare! Quapaw pottery dipper in elongated form, human head and torso emerge from one side, handle with animal head on other. Human wears peaked cap, his ears are perforated for ear spools and a series of raised white dots adorn him and the entire side of the vessel. Traditional red, brown and white pigment swirl over the surface.
Provenance: Ex-Private Chicago collection acquired in the 1980's.
