Manuel Galicia de Villavicencio (Spanish-Mexican, 1730 - c1788). "Santa Faz, Divino Rostro". Line and stipple engraving. 1784. Printed later. Signed in the plate. Wove paper. Full margins. Very fine impression. Fine condition. The print was pulled later from the original plate by Jaled Muyaes. Villavicencio owned a print publishing firm in Mexico City on Calle de la Polilla. He testified in the 1768 Inquisition investigation regarding printing protocols. Romero de Terreros, author of "Grabados y Grabadores," credited the artist with over 100 engravings.
