2014 1/2 Oz Proof Silver Baby Horse in Original Government Packaging (OGP)
A certificate accompanies a 1/2oz Baby Horse coin struck by The Perth Mint from 99.9% pure silver in proof quality. The coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of the Cook Islands.
The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar horse include 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002 and 2014. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be hardworking, sociable, optimistic and energetic.
The coin's reverse depicts a representation of a baby horse standing on its hind legs and dressed in a festive bridle and blanket. The Chinese character for 'horse', the inscription 'Year of the Horse', The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark and the year-date are also incorporated into the design.
The coin's obverse depicts the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination and the 2014 year-date.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 7,500 of these Baby Horse 2014 1/2oz Silver Proof Coins.
