As Proctor became an accomplished equine artist, he was commissioned by a prominent New York attorney to create asculpture of his Arabian stallion. The prized horse had been bred in the stable of the Czar of Russia and had on his neckthe czar’s brand, a crown. The patron was so pleased with the finished sculpture that he allowed the artist to have additional castings made for sale. At the time of the publishing of Proctor’s biography in 2003 there was only one recorded casting. Since then at least three castings of Arabian Stallion have surfaced.
