WILLIAM GARL BROWNE, JR. (NY/VA, 1823-1894), unsigned, oil on canvas. Southern barnyard genre scene with display of livestock being tended, including dray horse, trace horses, dairy cows, pig, chicken and geese and an attentive dog. In vintage gold painted gesso frame. OS: 18" x 23", SS: 12" x 17". Repaired puncture upper center, losses to frame. Gifted from Douglas Tryon, great grandson of the artist, to Juel Lyons of Edgewater NJ; currently from her estate.
