ENGLISH LADY'S WRITING BOX - Outstanding Mahogany and Marquetry Inlaid Portable Desk, having a hinged top with pen, pencil and letter opener in loops on a leather panel, a fitted interior well appointed with original inkwell, portfolio, pencil and notes tablet, stationary compartments, two small drawers and a fold out green leather writing surface. Brass drop handles on sides. Bearing the English Registration mark of Rd. 73968 and having the impressed maker's mark of Anderson & Co, Manchester. Second half 19th c. 8" x 12" x 6 3/4". Very good condition, minor veneer cracks and one tiny chip to back corner of lid.
