UTAGAWA YOSHIIKU (1833 - 1904). ORIGINAL WOODBLOCK PRINT. Japan, 1863. SIZE: 35,5 x 23,8 CM
AKECHI MITSUHIDE. Yugao – „Evening-face“, named after the climbing plant, which only flowers in the evening. Once of prince Genji’s lovers were also named after it. Original woodblock print from the series Imayo Nazorae Ganji – “Contemporary Allusions to The Tale of Genji†(Chapter no. 4 ). Signature: Ikkeisai Yoshiiku ga. Publisher: Omiya Kyujiro. Censor seal: Aratame combined with date. Condition: Very good print and colour.
