THREE ATTRACTIVE PAINTED PLATES
Porcelain with enamel colours. China, Qing-Dynasty, Doaguang (1821 - 1850)
A) Painting with very beautiful colours. In the well, an archaistic tripod vessel on a table, of the type "Ding", with a lion hound on the cover. Around the central motif are rows of various items, such as further archaistic vessels, scroll, books, a sound stone and an assortment of vases. Various charmingly painted flowers, garlands being blown by the wind enliven the composition. In a bowl pomgranate (plenty of children), on a rock Lingzhi (mushroom of longevity), a red bat with the same symbolism. Outside on the lip are five bats and in seal script on the bottom is the four-character mark Daoguang nian zhi é“光年製 , during which it was crafted. Very good condition.
DIAMEETER 23, 8 CM
粉彩圓托盤 . ä¸Â國 , 清代 , é“光款 . 高 28.3 厘米 .
B) In the well are two peaches with leaves in a circular composition, and a stylized bat, symbol of longevity. Around them are four large groups with depictions of bamboo, chrysanthemums, orchids and prunus. They are effectively contoured and painted in beautiful luminous colours. On the outer rim are four calligraphic abstract bats, and an endless knot on the bottom, likewise a symbol of longevity.
DIAMETER 23 CM

C) Beautifully rendered plate with a lapped, yellow glazer rim. Painted in the well are peaches and a bat, symbols of longevity. Grouped around the center are the "eight delicacies" of Buddhism, or Ashtamangala in Sanskrit. What appears as a pavilion is a sacred umbrella, next to it fishes. Further left a guidon and wheel, then conch shell horn and endless knot, finally, a holy water vessel. The still missing lotus - together with the other flowers - appears quite often. Finely painted on the bottem, a peach with a horned mask. A tiny chip on the rim, otherwise very good condition.
