Unmarked Full Stock Percussion Smoothbore Musket, 28 bore, 40" octagon barrel with good light gray bore showing some oxidation. The barrel and lock exhibit a dark brown patina displaying pinprick pitting around the nipple, along the edges of thebarrel, and front of the lock. The lock has some barely visible engraving at the rear and there is a illegible name on the barrel with the letter "R". The full length stock displays traditional striping and rates good to very good with dingsand scratches over a flat oil finish. There is a brass crescent buttplate present, a brass triggerguard with finger rest, and brass ramrod tail pipe and two thimbles. It appears that there may have been a nosecap at one time but there isnone now. The gun is equipped with a brass front blade sight and a single dovetailed rear notch sight. The half cock does not hold and will probably need some attention. A wooden ramrod is included which may or may not be original. A neatand authentic musket which actually handles very nicely and could be fun to shoot.
