Decoration: This set of ten spoons all have features characteristic of J.H. Potts' silversmithing. Their bowls are egg-shaped, coming to a point at the top. The connecting piece from bowl to handle has two rounded wings branching off. The handle swoops elegantly at a light curve before arching outward to form a rounded rectangle at the end half of the handle. The very end has a marginal curve upward, imprinted with a raised wave shape. On every handle is an engraved set of initials.

History: J. H. Potts was a silversmith in Harpers Ferry, Maryland in the mid 1800s. His silver, like many American silversmith's, was mostly coin silver.
