Decoration: This ribbon glass vase is clear, blue, and white. The way it comes up from the base gives it an aesthetic similar to that of cupped cloth. The blue of the vase forms literal ribbons, with the dark blue trim framing the lighter blue. The white makes a lattice, alternating between the blue and clear glass.
Construction: This vase was created with Zanfirico, an Italian decorative glassblowing technique involving intricate patterns of colored glass canes arranged and twisted to comprise a pattern within a new single glass cane. These new patterned canes are then used to create a glass work.Meta: blown glass
