Description: Charles Lindbergh stands before his monoplane, Spirit of St. Louis, before his famed journey over the Atlantic, from New York to Paris in a single day. A crowd is gathered on the right of the photograph, in anticipation of the world-shaking event to take place. The aviator's pose is stiff, but not unreasonably so - likely his nerves getting the better of him. The name of the plane is plainly visible to the right of the wing that overshadows Lindbergh.
Condition: Well preserved with minor scratching over the surface and a single crease in the lower right corner.
History: Charles Lindbergh grew famous over being the first man to ever be in New York one day and Paris the next. His fame became an eventual tragedy when his son was kidnapped, then found killed. The family exiled themselves from America to escape the public hysteria following the loss of their son.
