Description
A pair of early 20th century jade, seed pearl and diamond earrings. Each designed as a pear-shape purple jadeite drop, suspended from a brown seed pearl and diamond point foliate line. Length 4.2cms. Weight 5.8gms. With associated case.
Condition
The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. File marks and nicks to the back of the mounts and the hook fittings. Hook fittings for pierced ears. The diamonds appear bright and well matched, estimated total diamond spread weight 0.06ct, which is no indication of the total diamond weight. Seed pearls untested for natural origin. Seed pearls untested for natural colour origin. The seed pearls are an uneven brownish purple hue. Discolouration to the seed pearl mounts, glue and 'cement' visible. Jadeite untested for natural colour origin. The jadeite is a slightly mottled blue through medium deep purple hue. The jadeite shows a high polish with moderate 'orange peel' effect. Dimensions of jadeite drops 11mms by 7.9mms wide and 11.3mms by 8mms wide.
