Description
British, First quarter of 20th century. Collection of four Victorian tortoise shell vanity items comprising of two sterling silver mounted hand mirrors, a rectangular hair brush, and a sterling overlay round glass powder jar. Two sterling silver mounted mirrors with lion passant and Birmingham anchor mark, one (measuring approximately 10.1" x 5.1") with letter C dating the item to 1902, the other (measuring approximately 11.25" x 5.25") with letter Y dating the piece to 1923. Hairbrush with silver overlay in the form of a double headed eagle (overall measuring approximately 4.5" x 2.6"). Sterling and crystal dresser jar or powder jar bearing hallmark for Mappin & Webb and letter Z dating the piece to 1924. Crystal jar etched with floral motif and measuring approximately 3" x 3.25".
