Description
Martin Panamick (American (Native American),1956 - 1977), "Fisherman Fishing", silkscreen or serigraph on paper. Pencil signed lower left margin, numbered 33/100 lower center margin, titled lower right margin. Print with modern stylized rendering of two men with feathered headdress fishing under the moonlight on a raft with fish on line, bird on raft and additional fish on board. Framed 32.5" x 26.5". Sight size approximately 22" x 17.25". Note: An exact print from this edition currently housed in the Trent University Art Collection in Ontario, Canada. Sadly, Panamick's life and career were cut short by a car accident. However, his contribution in the Second Wave of Woodland Artists was substantial particularly to the Ojibwe Cultural Foundation in West Bay where his designs were used in educational material such as "Why the Beaver has a broad tail" and "Ko-Ko-Ko, The Owl".
