Kindel Furniture Company (American, Contemporary), New York Empire armchair with mahogany wood frame, parcel-gilt decorated top rail panel, with stencil decorated Neoclassical scene, flanked by acanthus leaves at top. Back, sides, and seat upholstered with green-striped silk, with gilt embroidered Neoclassical style motif. Large, scrolling arms above four acanthus-decorated cabriole legs, terminating in large, hairy lion's paw feet. Height 38", width (across arms) 24.5", depth 25". Seat to floor 19".

Chair is in very good condition with minimal wear to gilt finish and wood. No apparent repairs. Fabric shows little to no wear. Retains original paper tag as well as gilt mounted tag from Kindel on underside of seat.
