Description
Max Liebermann (German, 1847–1935), Lithograph from from the periodical "Kriegszeit" published by Paul Cassirer, Berlin, circa 1914. German Expressionist lithograph depicting a tragic and graphic war scene of medics and soliders tending to dead and wounded solider on the battlefield. A black wounded horse lies behind figures clustered together in foreground. Two figures carry stretcher and walk toward a dead cow near horizon line. Framed 19.5" x 15.5". Sight size approximately 12" x 9". Note: A slightly different variation of this print is housed in the Museum of Modern Art, New York and is titled "Samaritan (Samariter)".
