DESCRIPTION: Satinwood and mahogany reproduction Federal Hepplewhite chest of drawers. The chest consisting of four conforming drawers each with corner inlaid fans and string inlays. The case with dust boards between each drawer and a finely shaped skirt all resting on a high French bracket feet. "H. Sacks & Sons" label. The firm of Harold Sack & Sons was established by the great antiques dealer Israel Sack to produce reproductions of fine period antiques. The pieces were bench-made by the Sack firm and include fine brasses made for each piece. PROVENANCE: By descent to the consignor from the family of Robert Fleming (1801-1874), Pennsylvania Senator in 1836 and 1839. MEASUREMENTS: 37" x 21-1/2" x 37-1/2" high. CONDITION: Wear and losses consistent with age.
