DESCRIPTION: Victor Shearer (American, 1872-1951). Oil on canvas. Landscape looking through woods, across a road with tire tracks, towards a lake. Signed in the lower left corner "V. Shearer. 1956.". In a gold painted wooden frame. The son of artist Christopher High Shearer, Victor became a landscape painter in the traditional style. He lived mainly in Reading, Pennsylvania and owned a basket making business before pursuing painting. MEASUREMENTS: 19-1/4" x 29-1/4". Overall with frame 23" x 33". CONDITION: Light wear to frame.
