Idar-Oberstein, Germany,
an exceedingly rare naturally colored citrine crystal of considerable size bore this carving in the hands of this master sculptor who made efficient use of the high clarity and richly golden colored material to depict a stunningly realistic gorilla weighing an astonishing 16,865 carats, the lifelike pose shows the silverback with his head in his hand and crouched to the ground on all fours, the facial features, musculature and intricately etched hair all proof of the sculptors extraordinary attention to detail, when backlit the carving takes on a rich and deep golden hue, resting on an oval black obsidian base housing a hidden halogen light.
