An Agate and Aquamarine Cat Carving,
Idar-Oberstein, Germany,
attributed to Alfred Zimmerman, carved from a superb piece of banded agate rough, the carving depicts a playful cat batting a deep blue aquamarine sphere, the body intricately carved with fur detail and exhibiting excellent color isolation at the brown ears, tail and paws against the deep blue and gray blue body, eyes inset with hand painted elements.
