Elvis Presley Owned and Worn Gold Ring With Diamonds and Citrine (1970s). We've seen many of Elvis' rings over the years, but this one certainly stands out! It's 20.9 gram stunner, a size 12½, 14k gold stunner with 11 full-cut diamonds (.40 total carat weight), and an 8 x 6 mm citrine. That Elvis wore it often is no surprise - and it has a story! Elvis was hospitalized for about three weeks in 1973. During his stay, his longtime girlfriend Linda Thompson stayed with Presley 24/7, and her brother Sam Thompson (who was Elvis' bodyguard) visited the hospital nearly every day. Near the end of the stay Elvis took the ring from his own finger and gave it to Sam in appreciation of his friendship and loyalty. LOA from Sam Thompson.
