Description
Rare 1930`s Sparton Model 558, Four Knob Sled Radio. Beautiful art deco etched blue mirror, chrome and black wood radio designed by world famous industrial designer Walter Teague.17.5" Wide X 8.75" High X 8" Deep.
Condition
Condition - Mirrors are in good condition no cracks or large chips. The radio does have one small chip from the back side of the mirror glass at the extreme back of the left side end mirror, chip measures .25" X .125" (small chip). The chrome does have some light to medium corrosion or pitting. The black wood portion of the case needs restoration and is missing one small curved piece from the front lower left side of the radio 3.5" long X .125" X .125" . Dial looks good. One wood control knob is missing the chrome ring, only one control knob turns, the others seem to be seized. Original cord was very frayed and has been removed. Radio looks to have all original works and appears to have not been tampered with. Original back is missing.
