There, Woernle gained a strong reputation for his watercolours and etched landscape depictions of views throughout Europe, particularly French, German, Austrian and Italian. Woernle’s landscapes were particularly esteemed for their delicate handling of light and shade - - clearly in evidence here is his brilliant treatment of reflections in the water. His work is housed in the permanent collections of famous galleries in Rome, Venice, Vienna, Cologne and Berlin.
