Recueils de voitures Françaises et de voitures Russes ], comprising 6 lithographed plates of Russian carriages after Jacques François Swebach and 12 lithographed plates of French carriages after Eugène Lami, no text, foxing to first & last plate otherwise very good, loosely inserted printed note, contemporary straight-grain morocco with elaborate gilt borders, monogram and title cartouche on green morocco, backed in darker straight-grain morocco, gilt, minor damage to foot of lower cover, but overall a handsome copy, oblong folio, n.p., n.d. [1821]. An attractive set of illustrations relating to horse-drawn transport in Russia and France; this copy was, aptly, from the library of Napoleon Bonaparte's stepson Eugène Rose de Beauharnais, Viceroy of Italy and Prince of Venice, and his wife Princess Augusta of Bavaria, as evidenced by the presence of the printed slip stating that this book is from their 'Biblioteca Particotare' and their gilt monogram on the binding.
