Description
VINTAGE HARRISONBURG, VIRGINIA USED OAK TIME CLOCK, International Time Recording Co., used at the Virginia Craftsman cabinetshop. With winding key. Circa 1930. 32" H.
Provenance: Property of Cynthia and Joe Brock, Harrisonburg, VA.
Catalogue Note: As relayed by Joe Brock, longtime employee and last owner of the Virginia Craftsman shop, the hole in the glass and inner case is from a bullet fired by Sanford Donovan, the nightwatchman at Virginia Craftsman for many years. He was startled one night when the clock rang unexpectedly and shot in the general direction, hitting the clock. Needless to say he never lived down the event.
