This is real space food, the packages have remained unopened; a veritable banquet of food

The first space food was developed in the sixties between the first man in space and the first moon landing. The food had to be adapted to the particular circumstances of spaceflight (e.g. gravity). It was carried in bags and tubes in dehydrated (dried) state. It had the form of small pressed cubes to supply the cosmonauts with the needed vitamins and minerals. The space food of this collection is an example of the more ‘modern’ version of space food from the eighties. The collection contains ‘wheat’, ‘butter’ and ‘bread’ in the form of dry food from the year 1988, which was mixed with water before consumption to create a meal. Cheese with Yabaochnym puree is stored in a tube, diet food HA3 in a pack and a tin contains meat and vegetables by the manufacturer Soljanka. A thermos bottle by Thermos Co. Norwich, USA is decorated with rocket launch images. A veritable banquet of food!



This lot consists of five food packs that are still unopened. The dehydrated food is still in the original packaging. The three packs of dry food and the can are numbered, that is, it can be assumed that these pieces have flown. The convolute of space food is in good condition with traces of use. On the thermos bottle there are splashes of paint. The dehydrated food in one of the packs is crumbly. The dimensions are max. 21 x 10.5 x 10.5 cm.
