Description
Marilyn Newmark, American, 1929-2013. Lifetime Long Island resident, and the Protégé of acclaimed equine Illustrator, Paul Brown, became a highly recognizable Equestrian sculptor for her Classic and Traditional works. This work, commissioned by the Thoroughbred Racing Associations, depicts Man o War in mid stride with his jockey, Clarence Kummer, riding atop of him; Limited edition Bronze sculpture by Franklin Mint. On a wood base with title and artist plaque affixed to the front. Signed and dated. Very minor wear. Sculpture only is 14 1/4" long x 9 1/2". ESTIMATE $1,000-2,000
