George Nelson Thin Edge jewelry cabinet, by Herman Miller, 1960s, teak case with six drawers with rosewood fronts and the original white porcelain knobs, top drawer with dividers, white laminate top, four brass legs, cabinet is finished on all sides, original finish to all parts, signed with round metal Herman Miller tag, 30.25"w x 13"d x 8.75"h This example is from the estate of a former Herman Miller employee and is in fine original condition.
Condition
No water rings or stains. No chips or cracks. Sturdy and structurally sound. No repairs. No problems. Divider in top center drawer creates 20 compartments. Drawers are clean and work well. Excellent original condition.
The items on pages 130-133, lots 764-776, were purchased in 1958-60 by a Herman Miller employee in California. During her employment, she built a collection of iconic George Nelson and Charles & Ray Eames designs. Around 1970, she and her husband sold their modern house and moved to a dude ranch in Wyoming. They placed their collection of Herman Miller items in storage, where they remained for nearly 40 years.
