The last leaf of the 2-leaf signature "o" [Leaf o2] is the last leaf of the table of contents, which appears immediately before the first text page. The first text page constitutes pages [3]-4, or leaf [A2], and page 5 is signed “B.” Pagination, Vol II: [2], 371-817, [i], “To the Reader” [1]-[2], “A Chronological Table” [1]-[26], “Index” [19], [i] pp. The Chronological Table includes the cancel leaf, signed “10Y*”, so signature 10Y has 3 leaves. 9 plates: Frontis & 8 double-page maps/plans, which appear between pp72-73; 100-101, 140-141, 146-147, 240-241, 348-349, and 2 between 628-629. Cambridge bdg with later varnish to covers. Joints split. Hinges cracked, ffep loose. Worming to upper right and lower left corner of fep, lower corner of frontis (in margin), lower portion of outer margin of title, and lower portion of outer margin of 1st 2 pages of Raleigh biography. Relatively minor foxing to pages/maps, more noticeable on eps. Old ink ownership on recto of frontis (not visible from image side). 9 plates: 8 double-page maps + frontis by Vertue.
