(1890 - 1978) German general of paratroopers, the commander of the world's first airborne division who took the "impregnable" Eben Emael, later he undertook the invasion of Crete with mixed success. Partly-printed D.S., 1p. 8vo., [n.p.], Sep. 1, 1943, an award of the War Service Cross, 2nd Class with Swords to Walter Schwarzburger. Some wrinkles and folds, else very good.
