(AFRICAN-AMERICAN COLLECTIBLE) BLACK "GRUMPY" DOLL BY GUND
An excessively rare "Grumpy" doll made by renowned doll-maker Gund, this example bearing a dark brown face. The free-standing doll, about 12" tall, bearts an original "Gund Mfg. Co." tag sewn on the left side, and identifies the character, also noting: "Copyright Walt Disney Prod.". The verso of the head is also stamped: "GUND [Copyright] W.D.P.". The head and beard are molded flexible brown rubber with painted details, plastic belt with metal buckle, and cloth clothing. Some stains and wear consistent with age, else very good. We have been unable to find a single example of this doll elsewhere, and it may be the rarest Disney collectible available.
