(1658 - 1718) Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland as the second wife of James II. Exiled to France, the "Queen over the water" - as the Jacobites called her - lived with her husband and children in the Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, provided by King Louis XIV. Manuscript L.S. "Marie R" as Queen, 1p. 8vo., St. Germain en laye, May 4, 1716 to the Bishop of St. Omer, in French. The queen thanks the bishop for having donated a large canonicat to a mutual friend, which she believes will do much good. Near fine.
