Waylon’s three-million dollar 1979 RCA contract. This contract was historical for the time, not only for the amount of the resigning bonus, but for the points on sales he received. Chet Atkins said, “Waylon you got a better deal than I did and I was head of the company." Waylon along with his manager, Neil Reshen, negotiated to celebrate Waylon and the signing of this document RCA gave a party in “The Rainbow Room” on the 65th floor on top of what was then known as the RCA Building. Waylon was also honored with a reception at the home of the President of RCA Music, who happened to live in The Dakota, the same building as John Lennon in New York City.
