hallmarked, London, 1913, Ramsden & Carr, engraved to underside of base, Omar Ramsden et Alwyn Carr, Me Fecerunt, bell shaped bowl, resting on cushion stem with four brackets to the spreading foot, foot engraved "I was wrought for Martin Nicholas Speyer by Command of his Godmother B.G January 13th 1914", hammered finish, total weight 145gm, h 12cm. Catalogue Note: Omar Ramsden (1873 - 1939) and Alwyn Carr (1898 - 1940) were in partnership from 1898 to 1918. They were key figures in the English Art Nouveau movement and their work is much prized. Ramsden is particularly noted for hammered finishes and the inclusion of enamel work.
