This piece has extensive restoration. There is a very heavy layer of varnish covering previous repair, but under black light there is a medium amount of .25" diameter - 3" diameter sections of overpainting through out the canvas. These overpainting areas are barely visible to the naked eye and are mostly visible in the light yellow pigment background. This canvas appears to be restretched and the canvas fibers are visible in grazing light. There is light impasto crushing from restoration. There is light overall dust build up. This canvas is lined. There is a slight raised line in the paint on the bottom edge of the canvas, barely noticeable, it appears to be the original bottom edge of the canvas before it was restretched. This line is about .5" from the bottom edge.
