Description
Cert. #550, issued at Los Angeles in 1906 to Joseph Herb for 100 shares. Signed by HH Busch as president and S.B. Cannell as secretary. Geo. Nixon was one of the directors of the company. The company held 21 claims, circa 375 acres in the eastern part of the Greenwater district. As was usual of Greenwater, the assays and the size of the ore bodies reported by the company would equate to 20,000,000 tons of refined copper, worth, at 13 cts per pound, the comparably trifling sum of $5,200,000,000. A typical Greenwater scam. According to the 1908 Copper Handbook, "It is indeed lamentable to note that this magnificent mine, which carries, according to the company's own statements, more copper than all the developed copper mines of the world, is idle, and present office address a mystery."
